Goals for 2016 | Lifestyle

Goals for 2016 | Lifestyle
Hey loves,

It's that time of year again when the "New Year, New Me" starts again, well this year instead of trying to create a new me, I'm going to try and better the old me.
I've thought quite a bit about what I wanted my New Year goals to be so here is what I have come up with:

1. Be more sociable in the blogging / youtube community: This year I have started talking to a few bloggers/youtubers through snapchat but I have yet to meet them, I'm hoping 2016 will be the year that I make it to more blogger events.

2. Join the gym : (I know, this is probably everyones goal) Since September I have been saying that I wanted to join the gym but I've made up excuses such as not have any workout shoes, pathetic I know.

3. Learn more about the art of make-up: When it comes to make-up I am pretty much self taught, I learn a lot of things from watching others do make-up on YouTube, I'm hoping this year to pick up some make-up books and maybe learn something new.

4. Practice my photography: I think this was a goal of mine last year too but I didn't follow through with it. I love photography but I just don't know where to start when it comes to camera settings and tech things.

5. Eat more of a plant based diet: In the last couple of months of 2015 I've been into eating healthier, Christmas doesn't count, I wanted to continue this in 2016 by slowing moving my diet to a more plant based one. Don't get me wrong I am still going to enjoy eating chicken sometimes.

6. Read at least 15 books: I'm not a big reader so this might be a little difficult but we will see how it goes. If you have any book suggestions leave them down in the comments.

What are your 2016 goals?

MakeUp Geek Mini Haul
I know some of you don't follow me on snapchat (lcsbeauty) where I already showed these shadows so I figured I would to a blog post showing them in their full glory!

I picked up new shadows from MakeupGeek a little while ago, I think only one of them is from their new collection.
I wanted to show the colours are I've noticed that sometimes they don't show up true to shade on the website.

I will be doing a full Makeup Geek shadow collection soon!

    My Brow Routine

    18:00 0
    My Brow Routine
    Hello loves,

Not too long ago I ordered the Anastasia Brow Wiz pencil online, now I already have the Anastasia Dipbrow but I have seen tons of people rave about the brow wiz so naturally being the make-up addict that I am I had to get it.
I figured the brow wiz would be great to apply to the front of my brow as it applies light and doesn't make my brows look too caked.

The dipbrow is a tinted, cream pomade which lasts all day! As I want the tip of my brow to be more defined I use the dip brow with an angled brush. I have to be super careful when applying the dipbrow as it can be a little tricky.

I generally start off with the tip of my brow, taking a tiny bit of the dipbrow on a angled brush I sclupt out the tip of my brow and work my way around the arch and underneath, I then fill in the centre with small light strokes, stopping about half way. This is where the brow wiz comes in, I use that to shape the front of my brow and fill in the rest of it.
I know this seems like a lot of work but in my opinion you can never be too high maintenance when it comes to your eyebrows.

They both last all day which is what we all want in brow products. I would recommend setting the dipbrow with a brow gel though as it can sometimes transfer.

I have both products in the color Ebony.
You can purchase them from the Anastasia Website or from Beauty Bay

First Impression | Clinique Dramatically Different Gel

First Impression | Clinique Dramatically Different Gel
    Hello beauties,

Today I'm doing a first impressions of The Clinique Dramatically Different Gel, I picked this up at the Clinique counter in Brown Thomas, I was talking to the woman there because recently my skin has went from dry to oily around my t-zone and I have been breaking out in surface bumps. I didn't want to continue using the moisturiser that I have been using as that is more so directed to dry skin. The lovely lady at the counter recommend this gel as it is targeted towards people with oily skin.

When I got home I washed my face with Clinique's 7 Day Scrub and then applied a pea sized amount of the gel to my face. It glided on so well but let me tell you a little goes a LONG way. I applied it mostly to my oily areas and the rubbed the excess over the rest of my face.

I didn't notice a dramatic difference right away (I wasn't expecting to) but I did notice when I woke in the morning my skin was quite a bit smoother. I applied my make-up as normal that day, throughout the day I noticed that my foundation wasn't moving around my nose and forehead as much as it usually did.

As far as my breakouts, I haven't seen a huge difference, they seem to have faded a little bit but I don't quite know if that's time or the gel doing it's magic.
I'll write an updated post once I have finished the gel fully and let you know what I think!

    L'Oreal Is Love | Review

    L'Oreal Is Love | Review
    Hey Beauties,

I'm just going to put this out there.... I've fallen in love!!!

This beauty right here is L'Oreal Infallible Matte Foundation and on my goodness, it's my new baby!
I cannot rave enough about this product. I love everything about it, the texture, the end result, everything!

    L'Oreal Infallible Matte Foundation

As you can tell my the title this is a matte foundation that applies in a liquid form and then dries matte. I've worn this to work on 8 hour shifts and I didn't see one spec of oil!! Generally I get oily around my t-zone after about two hours of wearing make-up but with this I went an entire day without any oil production.
I didn't find it made my skin look chalky which most matte foundation normally do so I tend to veer away from them.

This also lasts all day, i didn't find it transferring onto my clothes or my hands which is rare to find in foundations.
I didn't apply any powder overtop of this, just my bronzer and highlight which sat really nicely on the skin also.

It feels super lightweight on the skin which is great for a day at work or just going for lunch with the girls. I wouldn't wear this on a night out as it isn't full coverage enough.

    L'Oreal Infallible Matte Foundation

As you can tell I'm super obsessed with this product. I will 110% be repurchasing it once I have used this one up.
I have yet to try the non matte Infallible, if it is anything as good as this one I'm sure I will love it!

    Price: €12.29
    Rating: 10/10
    Purchased from: Boots

Let me know your thoughts on this product! Do you love it or loath it?

    Hello beauties,

Apparently there is a new make-up technique called ton-touring... Now you're probably thinking what on earth are I'm going on about. Ton-touring is a technique for contouring using fake tan, yes you heard me, fake tan!!
    Sounds traumatizing doesn't it?

Marissa Carter from Cocoa Brown tan has come up with this exciting yet slightly scary idea of apply fake tan on your face to the areas where you would usually contour. She has mastered the technique already ( that explains why she always looks fabulous!)

I have yet to personally try it myself, I'm not going to lie I'm slightly afraid to in case it goes terribly wrong but I did see a video on YouTube of Wayne Goss trying it out. He didn't seem too impressed by it but I'm sure it will take a few tries before it's mastered.

Ton-touring will probably save you a ton of time in the mornings by not having to apply your contour but lets hope it doesn't go terribly wrong for us! Removing tan isn't the easiest thing to do.

What do you think of this idea? Will you be trying out ton-touring?
Let me know what you think.

    The Netflix Tag

    16:07 0
    The Netflix Tag
Since it is Sunday I figured this would be a good post to put up. All I did today was lay in bed, watch Netflix and plan some blog posts.

     1. What are your favorite series to watch on Netflix?
Oh I have so many.... Dexter, PLL, Gossip Girl, Prison Break and many more that I have started but have yet to finish!

    2. What are you currently watching on Netflix?
Currently I am watching Gossip Girl, I'm only on the 2nd season, I know i know I'm late on the bandwagon!

    3. If you could have any series, old or new, put on Netflix; what would it be?
The Hills. I love me some Lauren Conrad. I grew up watching The Hills so it's kind of a comfort show for me when I'm just chilling.

    4. What is your one peeve about Netflix?
''Are you still watching Netfilx?'' Arrrrgh that drives me bonkers! Of course I'm still watching Netflix now stop judging me!

    5. What are your essentials for a perfect night in with Netflix?
Pj's, a huge cup of tea and some chocolate! Absolute bliss.

    6. Recommend one series or film for someone to watch on Netflix.
Dexter! It holds my attention for hours!

    7. Name a series on Netflix that you keep meaning to watch, but haven't.
Breaking Bad, The Originals, Scandal... the list goes on and on.

    8. Did you discover anything awesome because of Netflix?
I discovered that staying in my bed for hours on end is pretty fun. I also discovered that breaking out of prisons, killing people or cooking myth is probably a bad idea..

Those are all the questions. Have you any Netflix recommendations for me? I'll add them to my list of must watch shows/movies hehe.

I'm not going to tag people to do this but if you do the let me know!

    Update: Where, What, When

    Update: Where, What, When
    Hello lovelies,
Long time no blog, those of you that follow me on snapchat (@lcsbeauty) will know that for the past two weeks I was away on holidays in Fuerteventura. I arrived home on Thursday so I've just been getting things figured out, unpacking and all that fun stuff.

Yesterday I bought a new camera, I got the Nikon D3200 and it's confusing the crap out of me, I have no idea how to work it but I will get there! I tried filming on it and for some reason the audio is moving faster than the picture when I try and edit. Do any of you know what may be causing that?

Another thing I wanted to let you all know is that I have been accepted into my college course, yaay, I will be starting around September 7th and I will be doing Business Computing and Digital Media and I'm super excited about it but also a little nervous.

I think that has been pretty much all I have been doing, I just wanted to write a little update to let you all know that I'm still here and I'll be back with regular posts soon!

My Holy Grail for under €10

    15:00 0
My Holy Grail for under €10
    Good evening loves,
I haven't posted a beauty post in quite a while. But I'm back!

Today I wanted to share with you my holy grail make-up product. It is the NYX Concealer! It retails for €6.99 and can be bought in select pharmacies nationwide.

I started using this concealer last year when I seen someone on YouTube recommend it. I'm not going to lie I'm a sucker for beauty vloggers recommendations. They'll suggest it and I'll buy it, mostly to see if the hype is real.

I bought this with pretty high expectations because I've seen so many people use it and love it. I used it under my eyes and loved it instantly, I will say though I find it quite tough to blend out with just a sponge so I sometimes have to use a brush with it, I bought two shades, one to conceal and one to highlight.

It is a very light weight concealer so I use it on days where I want a 'no makeup' look. I just apply a little bit to the areas that I want coverage, set it with powder and boom I'm good to go!
For the price it's absolutely amazing, I've repurchased it numerous times already and I will continue to, I highly recommend for you to try it out, it's a fantastic under eye concealer.

Have you tried this concealer? What are your thoughts?

    Review: MAC 125SE Brush

    Review: MAC 125SE Brush
    Hey lovelies,
Long time no chat, I've been quite busy recently with work and setting up my lifestyle blog but I wanted to tell you all about my new love!
This is the MAC 125SE  brush, it's part of their Wash & Dry collection and oh my is it amazing! This is my first ever MAC brush so I'm pretty stoked about it, I definitely want to try out some more!

First up look at those gorgeous colors, caught my eye straight away when I went to the MAC counter. The teal, orange and yellow work so well together. It has two toned bristles, one side is blacky brown and the other side is white/cream colored.

    MAC 125SE Brush

I use it for contouring with my Inglot 505 HD Sclupting powder, tap off the excess product on my hand and apply under my cheek bones, under my chin and my forehead. The bristles are ridiculously soft that the product just glides on and it's also really easy to blend out the product while applying so you're not left with any harsh lines.

This brush was priced at €34.99 and can be purchased for a limited time in Brown Thomas stores or Mac Counters.
I highly recommend this brush but hurry because I know my BT is already sold out!! I'm sure you can purchase them on ebay though.

Have you purchased this brush? What do you think of it?

Sometimes Life Gets In The Way

Sometimes Life Gets In The Way
    Hey dolls,

I know I have been MIA recently and I wanted to write a post addressing why. In the last month I have recently started working again so I have less time for blogging. Work generally takes up most of my time and the time I'm not working I'm with my family, friends and boyfriend. I'm honestly going to try and make more time for creating content or maybe even write in bulk and schedule posts.

I also went to Amsterdam at the beginning of this month which was amazing. The weather was fabulous, it was 30 degrees over there which is AMAZING compared to the weather we get in Ireland. The views were incredible, the canal, the buildings, the people was all just unbelievable. I will 100% be going back there as soon as possible. So many bloggers were telling me how gorgeous it is over there and now I understand what they were talking about. If you ever get the opportunity to go there definitely GO!

I also honestly couldn't think of anything to blog about.. I know this is the oldest excuse in the book but it's true. I didn't purchase any new products to show you and I haven't done any make-up looks differently. I've reviewed all my favorite products so I had nothing to write about. But I've purchased a few new things lately so stay tuned for some new posts!

So sometimes generally life stuff gets in the way of blogging or other plans but that's life. There is no way to avoid somethings happening. Again apologies for the lack of posts but I'm back now!

    Why I'm Voting Yes

    18:03 0
    Why I'm Voting Yes

First off for those of you who aren't Irish and haven't a clue what I'm on about I'm going to explain a little bit. On Friday the 22nd there is going to be voting happening all around Ireland. This voting will determine whether same sex marriage become legal or not.

I am voting YES to same sex marriage as I feel everyone should be treated equally and no one should be singled out because of their sexual preferences. I feel as though gay people should be entitled to all the same rights as straight people because lets face it, we're all human. We all have the same needs and one of those needs is love. Why should straight people be allowed to express their love for one another through marriage but it's illegal for gay people?

No voters are also saying that if same sex marriage becomes legal that children will suffer because they need both a mother and a father? But what about all those thousands of people who have raised their children alone without the mother or father present? I'm sure those kids have turned out fine. Another thing being said is that children will be bullied if they have two same sex parents, as this may be true, it will only happen if we teach or children that same sex marriage is wrong. If we teach them that it's okay to be gay then they will think nothing of their class mate having two mammies or two daddies.

I hope this influenced your decision in some way and that you might consider voting yes because everyone deserves to be happy and everyone deserves to express their love!

What is your opinion on same sex marriage? Do you agree? What are you going to vote?

    New Fitness Plan?? | Lifestyle

    New Fitness Plan?? | Lifestyle
I went shopping Saturday so some summer clothes for my holidays, I picked up a pair of shorts in Pennys for €9, normally I'm a size 8 but when I brought them home they wouldn't even go past my legs. Naturally this made me feel quite crappy but it also opened my eyes to how shit my diet has gotten over the past few months. I normally eat quite healthy but recently I've been eats crisp, chocolate, bread, bagels and everything else that isn't good for me and I've noticed the change in my body and my mood.

So now it's time for a change, for the better. I know you all might think that being a size 10 is still small but when you're used to being a size and then all of a sudden you're clothes no longer fit that's when you know you need a change.

I'm hoping to start a fitness plan but this is where I need YOUR help. I cannot afford a personal trainer as I'm not working and I don't know any fitness fanatics that could help me out so I'm all you. What routine do you use? Do you find it helpful?

Personally I would prefer something that can be done at home as gyms are quite expensive around my area.

Have you any ideas what would be useful to me?

Thank for you help in advance,

    Frank Coffee Scrub | Beauty

    Frank Coffee Scrub | Beauty
    frank coffee scrub

I'm sure most of you have heard about Frank, this little kinky body scrub can be found all over social media these days. But for those of you who haven't heard, Frank is a coffee scrub made with all natural ingredients such as coffee, sweet almond oil, orange oil, etc. It is said to be able to reduce the appearance of stretch marks and cellulite, which lets face it the majority of us women don't like.

I bought Frank, the original one, about 6 months ago online from their website (here), at the price of €14.95. It took about a week to arrive in the post and when I opened the box it gave me a good chuckle.
The packaging is so kinky saying things like, tear my top off, get naked, talk dirty to me and much much more haha.

    frank coffee scrub
It comes in a 200mg bag which is brown paper on the outside and plastic on the inside and it is re-sealable too. The smell over powered the room, a rich smell of coffee with a zesty smell of oranges, I'm not gonna lie it made me drool a little and the first thought that sprung to my mind was Terrys Chocolate Orange.

Frank is a dry scrub so keep in mind that there is going to be ALOT of mess so I advise you use it while standing in a tub.
It can be applied to wet skin or dry skin for best results and is recommend you leave it on for 5-10 minutes.
What I normally do is hop in the shower, apply the scrub to wet skin as I find it doesn't stick very well to dry skin. Play some music and sing along to two or three songs which wastes about 7-9 minutes and then I rinse it off. It will leave a mess in your shower but nothing a quick rinse down won't fix.

    frank coffee scrub
I don't find Frank did very much for my stretch marks or cellulite but I did find it leave my skin ridiculously soft and smelling like a giant orange latte. (yum)

Would I repurchase Frank again? Yes, most definitely. Although I'm not a fan of how much wastage there is when apply so I'll need to figure out a way to combat that. Other than that I love Frank. Honestly I wasn't expecting it to banish my stretch marks or cellulite because to be quite honest I don't think any product on that market is good enough to do that yet!

Have you tried Frank? Do you love it or hate it?

    My Tanning Routine | Beauty

    18:19 0
    My Tanning Routine | Beauty
    Cocoa Brown Tan

    Evening ladies,

I hope you're all enjoying the gorgeous sunshine us lucky Irish have been getting recently.

Today I wanted to tell you all about my tanning routine, I have been wearing tan religiously recently coming into the summer months.
The tan I use is Cocoa Brown 1 hour mousse tan, I first picked up a sample size of it and loved it the moment I used it!

Before I apply my tan I shower, I exfoliate my skin using Frank Body Scrub (post to follow) ensuring to get the tough spots like the knees and elbows, any place where the tan might sit unevenly. I make sure to shave before I tan as I don't want to strip the color. So once I have showered, I pat myself dry, lust over the smell of Frank, then proceed to apply my tan.

I use an tanning mit which I picked up from Penneys for roughly €2, any tanning mit will do the job. Don't forget to shake well before applying it to the mit as it is a mousse.
I start from the bottom and work my way up from my feet, knees, belly, bum, arms, chest and back. You will see an instant color from the beginning of application so you will know where it has already been applied to. Once I make sure that I have no white patches left, I wait about 10 minutes for it to fully dry, apply loose fitted PJ's, (as I always apply my tan at night time) and let the tan do its job.
In the morning when I'm looking nice and brown I hop in the shower and wash the color guard off to reveal a gorgeous bronze tan, then I'm ready to go show it off to everyone.

I cannot rave enough about Cocoa Brown and how amazing it makes me feel. I am ever so thankful to Marissa Carter for creating this wonderful product and keeping all us girls bronzed all year round for an unbelievable price of just €7.99

    Kylie Jenners Hair | Celebrity

Oh my.... Can we all just hold up a minute and admire Kylies hair?
I love it so much, I'm all for crazy hair colours, so I seriously cannot get over how much I love this on Kylie.

She has rocked so many different hair colors in the past couple of months, from black to grey to blue but is now currently rocking all over turquoise blue. I definitely prefer her hair longer, I think it frames her face better.

Which has been your favorite look?
Mine would have to be the long blue/black hair.
    Hair goals.. haha

    Skincare Routine 2015 | Beauty

    18:00 2
    Skincare Routine 2015 | Beauty
Hello loves, I have finally gotten round to updating my skincare routine, it's been over a year since I have done a post on my skincare and a lot of things have changed.

I don't like to use a facial cleanser in the mornings, I prefer to just use a toner and moisturizer, then continue with my make-up routine.

    • The toner I use in the morning is the Lush Tea Tree Toner then on top of that I use the L'Oreal Skin Perfection Moisturizer.

    Skincare Routine

The night time is where I do a full skin care routine.

    • I will start off by taking my make-up off using Simple Eye Make-up Remover and Simple Make-up Wipes to remove the majority of my make-up, then I will go in with the Garnier Micellar water on a cotton pad and wipe that all over my face to remove any make-up that the wipes may have missed.

    • I then use my cleanser which is currently Lush Let The Good Times Roll facial cleanser which smells likes cookie dough, it smells so good I could eat it. Once a week I will use Lush Mask Of Magnaminty, which is great if you're having a breakout it heals it up almost straight away when paired with Lush Tea Tree Toner.

    • After I have the cleanser and mask removed I will use L'Oreal Velvety Soft Toner. For night time moisturizer I use L'Oreal Triple Active Night cream and Benefits It's Potent Eye Cream.
